"As for the crystals," Caionna says, "They will resonate with my power after I've attuned to them. An unaspected crystal, in itself, doesn't have a resonance of its own. The automation can be achieved by giving focus from a source to a destination. Surely you've seen something to that effect before. I remember using crystals during my time in Etheirys to channel light-aspected aether from Norvrandt to the void. Surely we could do something similar here."
After a brief pause, she carries on, "We never said we'd try to go to the Reach for this, anyway. I don't want to go there. Neris gets nervous just thinking about it. Zarik's presence would be considered an act of aggression under any circumstance. I can't speak for Aren, but I'm sure he's not keen on setting foot on that mountain again." |

Bel gets a slightly confused look on his face when Zarik said he wasn't supposed to stay away from Twem.
Bel: Uh...when did i say I was the one suppsed to stay out of Twem? I meant the dragons. -The mage says and scratched his head.- Bel: And what's this about me thinking you wouldn't want me around? I definitely never said that. Now you're just misinterpreting what Neris said. I clearly stated I was never one for the whole solitary elf thing. I just said that even I enjoy some alone time every now and then. The thing is I don't like sitting around not doing much of anything. That's why I've been out and about. Seriously, where did that come from? As for me being aware of the power difference, yes. I know. Doesn't much matter, though. For a bit of sacrifice in power, I can now ignore any and all defenses of an opponent. A piercing effect, if you will. -Looking at his empty glass of water, Bel doesn't go inside to get more but simply materializes some in his own glass and in Caionna's. He takes a gulp of water and proceeds to adress Caionna.- Bel: To be honest, I don't very much like going there either. I'd only go there if it was absolutely necessary. And you mean like the aetherytes over in Eorzea then. Or something to that effect. Actually....that'd probably be a better place to look for something like that, though, I can't think of anyone who might be able to help. Don't really go there often. Maybe I should visit some more. -He takes another sip of water before continuing.- Bel: Anyway, regarding the harpies....could we apply some sort of obligatory training then? "I don't know." Neris speaks up, "Our birds are pretty adamant about their freedom to do whatever they want, when they want to do it. I'm pretty sure no one will take kindly to anything being forced onto them." She begins to trail off as she finishes her statement. |

"Not exactly." Aren replies to Bel, "Aethertyes are beacons for magical travel on the life stream that require attunement and focus to teleport to. What Cai's alluding to is actually not entirely what we're aiming to do, but the concept is similar. The people of Norvrandt channeled energy from the wall of crystalized light from the border of The Empty and channeled it to the Crystal Tower to be sent across the gap between worlds from The First to The Source to be then channeled from Mor Dhona to the portal on Mare Lamentorum to redress the tipping toward darkness in The Thirteenth. She knows more about it, but she's told us at least that much." |

"Well," Cai begins, "It's like Aren said. I don't want to exactly do what they did, since it's not at all what I think they're thinking of doing. I do want to try to see if these two can mimic the conduits they used. The problem is finding something in our world that can do it." |

Bel: Actually, it doesn't matter. It's just that I'm sick and tired of their constant advances. Ugh. Gonna need to take my mind off of that or it's just gonna keep building up. -The wizard takes a few gulps of water and a few breaths, the adresses Neris.- Bel: Yeah, which is why I said that'd only be applied if they'd be willing to. Just a general idea, nothing more. As for what Aren just said, sounds like the Crystal Tower is a hub for interdimensional energy distribution then. Probably more to it than that, though. And redressing the tipping towards darkness, huh. Only in the thirteenth? Interesting. Wouldn't mind learning more but that can wait. Anyhow, what do you think the're trying to do then, Cai? ____________________ There is nothing that can stand against my Zankantou! |
